Andrew Watson reports that the hot springs are related to emplacement of a Magma chamber at depth, which also is the driving source for the mineralization. The regional geology is a young 1,000,000 year volcanic sequence that overlies a Cretaceous shale sequence, with the gap between the two known as an unconformity. This unconformity plays a critical role in the formation of the deposit.

The deposit is unusual in that it is composed of 125 separate veins clustered in distinct systems aligned an intersection of SW-NE structure and N-S structures. The veins which average 1-3 meters w... More →

Charlotte McLeod reports that the gold price rocketed 5% on February 11 to hit $1,260.60 per ounce. That was its highest price in a year, and its biggest daily gain in seven years. Since then gold has fallen somewhat to $1,228.30 recently. However, it is still up 16% year-to-date, and at least some market watchers believe that it is set to make more gains in 2016.

Jeffrey Nichols, senior economic advisor at Rosland Capital and a top gold expert, is one person who believes that. He recently sat down with the Investing News Network (INN) to explain why he is so bullish on the yellow m... More →

Teresa Matich reports that at the Sprott-Stansberry Vancouver Natural Resource Symposium, Kaminak Gold, CEO Eira Thomas took a moment to chat about the progress the company has made so far in 2015 and about what investors can expect next.

It has been a busy year for Kaminak Gold, with the company putting out a string of drilling and metallurgical results for its Coffee gold project since January. Most recently, Kaminak reported gold recoveries of up to 85 percent from transitional mineralization in column-leach tests.

The company is aiming to complete a feasibility study ... More →

David Jensen claims that as discussed in 2014 and again in January of this year, with daily gross trading turnover at the LBMA (London Bullion Market Association) in January of about 200 Million oz. of gold per day, it was inevitable the world pre-eminent physical gold and silver pricing platform in London would fail due to the Gresham Law and we can now see from available information that it is collapsing.

The Gresham Law predicts that the introduction of debased (or bad) money will drive more valuable (or good) money out of circulation leaving only the debased, and ultimately wort... More →

Eric Lemann blogs that gold reserves will likely be exhausted in 20 years. The same is for zinc and diamonds. Nickel, cooper and platinum ... in 40 years. This is what analysts tell us regarding known world mines. According to Eugene King, European metals and mining analyst at Goldman Sachs, the concentration of precious metals in the Earth crust is extremely low, and the number of potential rich mines is really small.

Right after Goldman Sachs announcement, Goldcorp presented the results of a research by which world production of gold will reach a peak amount in 2015, but by 2022 i... More →

Gravity and magnetic geophysical methods are passive. They rely on no controlled sources but seek out naturally occurring variations in the earths gravity and magnetic fields. For this reason, some military uses of these surveys have long included quiet detection of submarines and volatile unexploded munitions. Metamorphosed, igneous and polydeformed rocks, which are common subjects of mineral exploration, can be far more complicated than the stratified rocks examined in the search for oil and gas. Hard-rock geology presents an explorer with a mind-boggling array of lithologic, metamorphic and... More →

Szu Ping Chan reports that investors snapped up gold at a record pace in the first three months of 2016 as global growth fears intensified and central banks slashed interest rates deeper into negative territory.

Concerns that Britain could leave the EU also triggered a spike in demand across Europe where investors were plagued by lingering Brexit fears, according to the World Gold Council. Gold demand climbed by 21% to 1,290 tonnes in the first three months of 2016 compared with a year earlier, its gold demand trends report said. This represents the biggest first quarter increase s... In 2004, Nevada Exploration (NGE) began a reconnaissance groundwater chemistry exploration program across Nevada to identify new gold exploration targets. Because there were no established procedures for collecting and analyzing groundwater samples for mineral exploration, nor existing software for spatial groundwater chemistry data collection and analysis, NGE developed new sampling procedures and custom software.

NGE has now collected more than 3,000 samples from springs, wells, windmills, and other available sources of groundwater. To prioritize sampling in areas of geologic in... More →

Andrew G. Tomkins reports that gold has historically been a key strategic commodity, and the study of gold deposit formation has long been investigated. Debate on the genesis of so-called orogenic gold deposits (more than 75% of gold recovered through history) continues largely because it is difficult to reliably identify the source of gold.

In this paper, the author identifies a geochemical tracer in orogenic gold deposits, ethane (C2H6), which is found in carbonaceous metasedimentary rocks. Orogenic gold deposits dominantly form in metamorphic rocks in the mid-to shallow crust (5... More →

This time last year, the gold market was in a sorry state. Market participants were still reeling from the yellow metal fall from grace, and were hoping against hope that it would bounce back in 2014. Unfortunately, it is fair to say that did not happen. These past couple of months, the yellow metal has been battered by the end of QE and a strong U.S. dollar, and slipped past the key 1,200 dollars-per-ounce mark as October drew to a close.

Though gold has managed to rise a little since then, gold has not been able to remain above $1,200 for any meaningful period of time. That said,... More →

These rocks unconformably overlie volcanic arc sedimentary rocks of the Upper Triassic Stuhini Group along the westernmost part of the Property. Gold (and ag) mineralization is hosted in predominantly sub-vertical vein, vein stockwork, and subordinate vein breccia systems of variable intensity. The vein/stockwork systems display both parallel and discordant relationships to stratigraphy. These systems are relatively continuous along strike (several tens of meters to several hundreds of meters).... More →

In the book Extractive Imperialism in the Americas Capitalism New Frontier by James Petras and Henry Veltmeyer. In Chapter 8, Darcy Tetreault opines in Resistance and Reform in Mexico Mining Sector that Mexico has become the number one recipient of investment in mining exploration in Latin America. In the context of booming metal prices during the first decade of the 21st century, foreign and national-based mining companies have extracted almost twice as much gold and half as much silver as was extracted from the country during the entire 300-year period of conquest and colonialism.

Clive Maund opines that having hit a target, silver has formed what is believed to be an intermediate top over the past five weeks or so, which it should soon start to descend. On its three-month chart, Maund sees this presumed topping pattern started with the appearance of a prominent Gravestone Doji or Shooting Star candlestick early in July, with its negative implications being amplified by its having occurred on very high volume.

While moving averages are in bullish alignment, the now yawning gap between the 50-day and 200-day makes a correction likely. After dipping back durin... More →
